RONALD HL TAN, Managing Partner

Ronald is the founder of the Firm. He graduated with a double degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Economics) and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Monash University, Australia. He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1997.

Ronald has extensive experience in top-tier corporate and cross-border mergers & acquisition work. He has advised and structured investments for blue-chip companies, Fortune 500 multinational corporations and high net worth individuals. He was involved in several landmark deals on the Malaysian corporate landscape, and has spearheaded both domestic and international IPOs.

Prior to establishing HL Tan Lim & Partners, Ronald was practising as a corporate lawyer in one of the world's largest international law firms. He was subsequently made partner in 2003 and was the Head of Capital Markets with some of Malaysia's largest leading law firms. Over the years, he has built up a solid client base, and in 2013 he established HL Tan Lim & Partners with a view of providing a boutique personalised service to each client.

Ronald is recognised as a Corporate Law specialist by leading publications. The Legal500, AsiaLaw Profiles and the International Financial Law Review's "The Guide to the World's Leading Financial Law Firms" have all recognised him as a Capital Markets expert. He is also a noted Islamic Finance practitioner, having been voted as "Top 50 Leading Lawyer" by Islamic Finance News as well as "Leading Lawyer" in Islamic Finance News' 2011 Poll.
